Partner with the Store Manager in day‑to‑day store operations. Act as store manager in the manager’s absence. Coach, train, and develop store employees. Ensure customer/donor needs are met with quick, efficient service and excellent community relations. Communicate personnel issues with management and issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations, and goals as needed in coordination with HR and district sales manager. Maintain store to ARC merchandising standards and adequate inventory levels. Oversee back room processing and ensure material handlers meet daily processing goals. Manage daily cash, safeguard registers and safe, and bank cash receipts per ARC policy. Assist the Store Manager in maintaining safety measures consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations. Implement appropriate loss prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned by management, retail directors, and command administration. Qualifications to Be Considered
High School diploma/GED or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years previous retail management/supervisory experience. Accurate POS/cash register operations and cash transaction handling. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Pass background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry. Effective communication with management, staff, customers, and donors. Physical Demands
Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on intermittent or continuous basis. Grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinets, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts. Move up to 50 lbs. Perform repetitive motion tasks. Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedule
Stores operate 7 days per week. Full‑time associates may be scheduled to work any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexible coverage to ensure adequate store coverage. The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations related to COVID‑19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff if required. Exemptions may be considered on religious or medical grounds when available. Seniority Level
