Job Overview We are looking for a skilled Node.js & API Engineer for a short-term engagement focused on building, enhancing, and optimizing backend services. The ideal candidate should have strong experience developing scalable APIs, integrating with third-party systems, and working in fast-paced environments with quick turnaround expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Node.js
Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices
Integrate APIs with internal and external systems
Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize code, and ensure high application reliability
Collaborate with frontend developers, product owners, and other stakeholders
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Support deployment processes and provide quick fixes when needed
Required Skills & Experience
4–6+ years of professional experience in backend development
Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js (Express.js, Nest.js, or similar frameworks)
Solid experience building and consuming REST APIs
Knowledge of API security, authentication, and best practices (OAuth, JWT, etc.)
Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance‑tuning skill
Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level
