Base pay range $165,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning for EdgeCore’s portfolio of data centers located in North America. The Tax Director will be dedicated to preparing and reviewing tax filings, managing tax audits, managing external real and personal property tax advisors and developing tax strategies, including tax incentives, that align with business objectives. This is a high‑impact position suited for a tax professional who wants to influence business decisions, optimise results, and support high‑growth initiatives. This role will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information, ensure accurate reporting, and provide valuable tax‑related insights that support informed decision‑making.

Key outcomes for this role include:

Compliance and reporting:

Manage the tax compliance process to ensure all filings are completed accurately and on time. Oversee the preparation and review of various tax returns, including income, sales and use, and gross receipts.

Real and personal property taxes:

Manage all aspects of real and personal property taxes including management of external advisors, appeals, returns and forecasting of taxes from development through stabilization of projects.

Tax planning and strategy:

Provide expert advice on tax optimisation and the implications of business decisions and transactions. Research, track, and assess new or emerging tax issues and regulations to proactively identify risks and opportunities.

Audit management:

Lead tax audits and inquiries from government authorities by preparing responses and gathering required documentation.

Cross‑functional collaboration:

Partner with accounting, finance, legal, corporate development, and operations teams to align tax strategies with business objectives and support growth initiatives.

Process improvement:

Drive continuous process improvement by developing and implementing best practices that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.

Your Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

7–10 years of professional experience in an industry tax role with broad exposure to multistate and local jurisdictions

Extensive knowledge of tax accounting, compliance, and various tax codes, with experience in the real estate or technology/data center industry a key requirement.

Solid grasp of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), financial concepts, and accounting principles.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a high degree of attention to detail to identify and mitigate tax risks.

Proven ability to manage tax provisions, lead projects, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation is required, along with a CPA licence or equivalent professional certification.

Annual base salary range is $165,000 - $185,000 depending on experience
