This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to hospitality, event management, or theater operations. A minimum of three years demonstrated and related work experience in event or performing arts field with knowledge of management and organization. Key Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, and executes assigned shows, events and presentations, ensuring internal and external client expectations are met and exceeded within designated guidelines and departmental safety standards. Facilitates production meetings and walk-throughs with clients and staff in preparation for events. Completes paperwork in a timely manner before and after all assigned projects. Supervises staff, including selecting or recommending selection, assigning and evaluating work, counseling and disciplining. Trains, supervises, and monitors work‑study students. Request & schedule professional artists, support staff and production crew as needed to support events and productions. Ensures all assigned projects are properly staffed. Conducts and maintains building inventory levels of equipment and peripherals within the News‑Journal Center. Performs research and makes recommendations on additional and essential needs, including maintenance of existing assets. Responsible for quarterly audit of inventory. Performs office tasks such as record maintenance, typing correspondence, telephoning and photocopying. Develops and implements policies and procedures for area of responsibility and ensures compliance with same by staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic working knowledge of theater stage operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of Mac based applications. Ability to communicate effectively. Attention to detail and capacity to juggle multiple projects and tasks yet knowing when to ask for assistance. Physical ability to perform daily work tasks of walking, standing, stooping, stretching, lifting and at times exerting force between 20 and 50 pounds to lift and move objects. Commitment to work a varied schedule week to week including evenings and weekends. Positive demeanor and willingness to learn are highly desired.
