Eleven Recruiting is hiring a Facilities Manager to join one of our largest growing Space & Defense clients situated onsite in Huntington Beach, CA. The Facilities Manager will maintain and optimize all building systems, utilities, and production equipment within a high‑precision aerospace composites manufacturing environment. This role combines technical expertise with hands‑on leadership to ensure consistent equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency through preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical and electrical background, with direct experience managing and maintaining complex manufacturing systems such as autoclaves, filament winders, CNC machines, vacuum and compressed air systems, and other production‑critical assets. This individual will oversee maintenance personnel, coordinate vendor and contractor activities, and lead facility upgrades and capital improvement projects to ensure long‑term operational readiness and manufacturing uptime.

Base pay range $100,000.00/yr – $120,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all facility systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, compressed air, and vacuum systems.

Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, autoclaves, filament winders, ovens, freezers, paint booths, and hydraulic presses.

Plan and execute facility layout changes, equipment moves, and infrastructure upgrades supporting production and R&D.

Coordinate vendor and contractor activities for electrical, mechanical, and construction projects.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental health and safety standards.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspections, and repairs using a CMMS system.

Manage spare parts inventory, tooling, and maintenance consumables to ensure operational readiness.

Support capital improvement projects from concept through installation and commissioning.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, and EHS to improve process efficiency and safety.

Mentor and train maintenance technicians to enhance troubleshooting and technical proficiency.

Provide emergency response leadership for facility or equipment failures to minimize production disruption.

Qualifications

5+ years of facility maintenance or management experience within aerospace, manufacturing, or defense industries.

Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Hands‑on experience maintaining autoclaves, vacuum systems, ovens, CNC machinery, and other complex manufacturing equipment.

Familiarity with compressed air, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems.

Experience using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems such as UpKeep.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate across teams and vendors.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and preventive maintenance best practices.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Background

Experience in AS9100 or Nadcap‑certified manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of filament winding, mandrel extraction systems, and composite curing equipment.

Involvement in capital project planning and facility expansion initiatives.

Prior experience leading maintenance teams in aerospace or advanced manufacturing settings.
