Human Resources Director at Humane Society of Missouri - Hiring People Who Love Animals! We are seeking a client-focused, full-time veterinary surgeon to provide a wide range of surgical services including soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, as well as take outpatient appointments as time allows. Our AAHA accredited veterinary hospitals offer digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, therapeutic laser, full-service dentistry with digital dental radiography, and a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Our Pain Management Centers also offer rehabilitation services.

Our veterinarians enjoy a 40-hour work week, with a consistent schedule. There are no after-hours calls or emergencies, and we are closed on all major holidays. Veterinarians earn generous paid vacation, paid sick time, and five floating holidays per year.

Benefits

Up to a $100,000 sign‑on bonus.

$120,000 minimum base salary.

Commission opportunity – our average annual total compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $165,000.

Continuing education expenses and CE paid time off.

MO Veterinary License, DEA and MO Controlled Substance License paid.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.

Surgical residency trained and/or 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience suitable to our needs.

DVM licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Missouri or eligible.

DEA licensure in good standing or eligible.

Federal Accreditation or eligible.

Maintain cooperative relationships with primary care veterinarians, associated hospital departments, HSMO teammates and others contacted in the course of work.

A commitment to practicing a high standard of medicine to include spectrum of care as necessary, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.

Have an interest and/or training in canine rehabilitation and pain management.

Are experienced in abdominal ultrasound or willing to be trained.
