The SVP, Experience Development, will own the full design lifecycle—from conceptual briefing to detailed design—ensuring a seamless transition to construction handoff. What You'll Do: Strategic Design Leadership Lead the end-to-end development of retail and hospitality experiences, from initial briefing and concept development to handoff for construction and implementation. Champion a holistic experience strategy that exceeds guest expectations, advances our partners' missions, and elevates their brand. Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (Merchandising, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, and Growth) to ensure cohesive design narratives that translate from brief to execution and brand and deliver on all project objectives. Be a thought-leader in new concept development to support roll-out and growth strategies. Project Oversight & Execution Oversee all phases of design: briefing, conceptual, design development, and construction handoff. Drive project vision, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. Ensure design excellence and technical accuracy across all projects. Partner with construction and real estate teams to enable successful implementation and build-out of spaces. Team & Stakeholder Management Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of designers and project managers. Manage relationships with external agencies, architects, consultants, and vendors. Build alignment and trust with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and influence. Executive Communication Develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations and design narratives to secure alignment and approval. Advocate and lead innovative design solutions that drive guest engagement and business value. Strong executive presence. What You Bring: 15+ years of experience in experiential design, with a focus on retail, hospitality, or lifestyle brands. Proven experience leading large-scale design projects for global or nationally recognized brands. Expertise in design thinking, spatial design, customer journey mapping, and brand storytelling through physical environments. Deep understanding of interior design principles and the ability to translate strategic objectives into built experiences. Exceptional stakeholder and team leadership skills; able to navigate and influence in a complex, matrixed organization. High-level proficiency with design tools including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 3D visualization software. Outstanding verbal and visual communication skills, including experience with C-suite presentations, strategy articulation, and stakeholder meetings. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Interior Design, Environmental Design, or related field. Experience working with in-house brand/IP owner teams and design agency environments.
