Division: Atlas Tube (A division of Zekelman Industries)
About The Role
As a Hydro Tester Operator at Zekelman Industries, located in Kansas City, MO at our Atlas Tube division, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality and safety through the accurate testing and inspection of materials. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment, takes pride in precision and safety, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative production team.
Shift
1st Shift | 5 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay
$19.50–$22 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus
What You’ll Do
Operate hydro test machinery to verify product quality and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
Track heat numbers and maintain accurate stenciling and tagging to meet customer and production requirements.
Retrieve and program stenciling data to ensure accuracy and consistency in labeling.
Monitor coating quality and ensure materials meet drying and handling standards before bundling.
Input grooving dimensions and maintain detailed production records for quality assurance purposes.
Oversee robotic operations and assist hydro team members during grooving processes as needed.
Communicate with shipping teams regarding material flow and inventory updates.
Perform preventative maintenance and submit accurate work orders for any necessary equipment repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe workspace and comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Support training initiatives by cross‑training others and participating in ongoing safety and skills programs.
Who You Are
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Basic computer and math skills; mechanical aptitude; familiarity with machine operation and maintenance.
Strong communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
Self‑motivated, safety‑oriented, and able to follow Lockout/Tagout and other OSHA procedures.
Physical Abilities
Work performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery (within OSHA limits).
Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
May require occasional overtime.
Ability to lift, stand, and move as needed for production activities.
