Overview We are seeking a full-time

Senior Software Engineer

in our Chandler, AZ or Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will research and develop cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology that could act as future market disruptors. Essential Functions Serves in a leadership capacity as an individual contributor and consultant on forward-looking computer vision and machine learning topics

Designs and implements real-time computer vision systems for applications in aviation

Contributes to advanced technical research on new technologies

Recommends hardware capabilities needed to accomplish real-time operation

Provides organizational knowledge related to computer vision libraries like OpenCV and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, or ONNX

Collaborates across multiple teams on complex projects using strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field

AND

a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated proficiency with designing well architectured software systems and modules that support new technology or improve capability/performance of existing functionality Demonstrated competence with researching fundamental problems and implementing appropriate algorithmic solutions Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead software engineer for a complex software project Ability to decompose functional requirements into well-defined tasks while balancing quality, quantity, and complexity in work output Demonstrated capability to offer peer technical assessments in areas of expertise, new technologies and software designs Mastered proficiency in writing software in C, C++, C# or Java and relevant experience and/or training in data structures or object-oriented design methodology Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Desired Qualifications Fundamental understanding of linear algebra, quaternions, and 3D geometry

Fundamental understanding of image sensors, lens optics, and camera calibration

Strong understanding of pattern recognition techniques, including feature extraction, classification, and clustering

Experience generating intrinsic and extrinsic camera matrices and estimating camera position and pose

Experience evaluating algorithm/model performance with statistical techniques

Experience optimizing algorithms for embedded systems

Experience porting machine learning models to neural processing units

Experience generating synthetic datasets for model pre-training

Experience adapting algorithms for improved performance in adverse weather conditions

Experience tuning and applying Kalman filtering to data streams

Experience with common applications of computer vision such as optical flow estimation, stereo vision systems, structure from motion, and SLAM

Experience in fusing data from multiple sensors

Experience with both traditional and machine learning-based approaches to computer vision algorithms, and an understanding of their relative strengths and weaknesses
