We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to assess and enhance our existing database architecture, support high transaction volumes, and integrate with modern microservices and AI-driven systems. The successful candidate will design scalable, high-performance solutions while ensuring database security, availability, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Assess current SQL Server architecture and recommend improvements for scalability, performance, and maintainability. Design and implement a high-performance, future-ready database to support a 5M daily transaction load integrated with microservices and AI systems. Develop a comprehensive data archival strategy for cold, warm, and hot storage to manage 100TB+ of data. Collaborate with application developers to ensure alignment with microservices architecture. Optimize performance through indexing strategies, bottleneck analysis, and query tuning. Establish and enforce best practices for partitioning, indexing, data archiving, and database design. Implement high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies ensuring near-zero RPO and RTO. Automate database deployment, backups, and monitoring processes in collaboration with DevOps. Ensure data security and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Provide technical mentorship and support to development and operations teams. Stay current on SQL Server advancements and best practices. Execute bulk inserts, imports, and exports across diverse data sources. Develop T-SQL scripts to create constraints, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers, and dynamic queries. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in SQL Server database design, development, and administration. Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of database scalability techniques such as sharding and partitioning. Proficiency in T-SQL and development of stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Hands-on experience with database backup and recovery processes. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Experience managing databases exceeding 100TB in size. Familiarity with self-hosted SQL Server environments on virtual machines Knowledge of data modeling tools such as ERwin or PowerDesigner. Experience integrating SQL Server within microservices-based architectures. Exposure to DevOps tools and automation for database deployments. Experience developing dynamic T-SQL queries and handling bulk operations. Understanding of compliance standards related to database security. #J-18808-Ljbffr
