About the role:

Supported by biostatisticians across 10+ sites worldwide, Novartis manages over 200 compounds. Biostatisticians analyze clinical data to support drug development, influencing decision-making in international, cross-functional teams from early to late phases.

We seek an Associate Director, Biostatistics, to lead innovative trial designs, statistical models, and data analysis at the study or project level. You will oversee all statistical, scientific, and operational aspects in collaboration with clinical trial teams and other analytics partners.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide strategic statistical input for projects, including development plans, trial design, regulatory strategies, and publications.

Plan and execute statistical analyses and consultations within cross-functional teams.

Lead innovation in statistical methodologies and trial designs.

Collaborate with medical and strategic functions to inform drug development decisions.

Manage project transitions from full to late-stage development.

Propose and implement innovative approaches to optimize drug development.

Oversee project activities, resource management, and vendor partnerships.

Partner effectively with other functions for integrated quantitative input.

Develop and mentor biostatisticians.

Location:

East Hanover, NJ. This position is onsite and not remote.

Role Requirements:

Essential:

PhD with 6+ years or MS with 10+ years in Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.

Advanced knowledge of statistical applications and innovative methods.

Influence decision-making impacting projects and departments.

Strong communication skills bridging scientific and business needs.

Desirable:

Experience with late-phase drug development.

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting salary ranges from $145,600 to $270,400 annually, with potential bonuses, stock units, and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation depends on various factors including location, experience, and skills.
