To support Navy Federal's Data Architecture organization, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr Principal Data Architect to develop and implement data strategies and frameworks that align with the organization's business goals. The role involves architecting, designing, and building end-to-end cloud-based data services, including designing data models, implementing data migration strategies, and ensuring secure data storage. Expertise in cloud data platforms will be crucial in guiding the organization's cloud data strategy and delivering scalable data analytics, ML, and AI solutions. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive data architecture supporting business intelligence and analytics. Design architecture strategies based on modern data paradigms like Data Products, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Domain Driven Design. Lead the design of cloud-based data solutions using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Create data models and data flow diagrams for operational and analytical systems. Provide thought leadership on optimizing an Analytical Semantic Layer (ASL). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data architecture blueprints. Ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and security protocols. Evaluate existing systems and recommend performance and cost improvements. Conduct proof-of-concept projects for new technologies. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. Partner with internal and external teams for technology discovery and fit-gap analysis. Mentor team members and promote continuous learning.
Qualifications
15+ years in data architecture and design, with 10+ years in cloud technologies. Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, IT, or related field. Extensive experience with Azure data platform and cloud analytics, ML, AI solutions. Expertise in modern data architecture paradigms and data modeling at enterprise level. Strong communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and related services. Experience in financial industry data models and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP is a plus. Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and big data technologies. Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with financial data models like FSLDM or BFMDW. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Banking Cloud Services. Proficiency with data analytics tools like Power BI and Tableau. Focus on cloud data platforms such as AWS or GCP.
