Job Description
This role involves understanding and applying DHL Supply Chains IT project management processes to ensure successful project execution. Responsibilities include managing project integration, scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, communication, risk, and procurement throughout the project lifecycle. Projects typically involve implementing third-party Supply Chain applications such as Warehouse Management Systems and Transportation Management Systems.
Project Planning / Administration / Delivery
Develop and validate project and resource plans, ensuring optimal scheduling and staffing.
Communicate commitment dates to stakeholders.
Manage project scope by creating and maintaining documentation like project charters, schedules, and issue logs; establish work plans, budgets, roles, and key results.
Secure commitments from necessary resources and guide the project team to ensure cohesive progress.
Execute projects within scope, schedule, and budget, reporting variances as needed.
Conduct formal project reviews and monitor team performance.
Engage clients actively and ensure project deliverables meet their requirements.
Monitor project costs against budgets.
Use consistent reporting methods for real-time tracking of resource utilization and project status.
Identify and quantify risks; develop contingency plans.
Pursuit Cost Model Generation
Assist in developing responses to customer RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, representing the Business Unit IT team for all projects you lead.
Financial
Manage project budgets and financials for select projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Implement organizational change management to incorporate scope changes into financial reports.
Support operations in transitioning IT expenses into operational budgets.
People Management
Train and mentor team members involved in implementation.
Provide guidance on project management processes and development.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Masters degree is preferred.
At least 7 years of experience in an IT environment, with leadership or application development roles, preferably in large organizations.
Minimum of 3 years in IT project management, with proven accountability for budgets and timelines. Experience with system design, development, or integration projects is required.
Proficiency with project management software is required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Experience in Logistics/Supply Chain, especially with Warehouse Management Systems like RedPrairie/JDA or Manhattan, is highly desirable.
