"DOING THE MOST GOOD" Location: ALAMEDA, CA - RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE / MATERIAL HANDLER Pay Rate: $19.50 About The Arc The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program assisting men and women in completing our rehabilitation program. We value our employees' contributions towards the effectiveness of our programs and rely on their diligence and dedication. About Our Retail Team Become part of our dedicated Retail Team! Together, we serve and impact our community through our Seaside Thrift Store, supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role offers an opportunity to enhance customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while contributing to our mission of " Doing The Most Good ". Our Mission The Salvation Army is an international Christian movement motivated by God's love. We aim to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs without discrimination. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years retail management/supervisory experience. Ability to operate POS/Cash Register, schedule, and supervise store staff. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry. Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive motions. Key Responsibilities Partner with the Store Manager for daily operations. Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. Coach, train, and develop staff. Maintain excellent customer and donor relations; resolve complaints efficiently. Lead daily team meetings and supervise staff performance. Handle personnel issues, disciplinary actions, and employee evaluations. Ensure store standards, inventory levels, and safety protocols are maintained. Manage cash, banking, and loss prevention measures. Attend meetings and support store safety and maintenance. Assist with transfers between stores as directed. Additional Details
