A DevOps Engineer automates and streamlines processes for building, testing, and deploying software. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git) Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) Basic Purpose:
Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and developing software lifecycle and pipeline processes for distributed applications hosted on WebSphere, Unix, Windows, and Container platforms. The goal is to transition to fully automated build, test, and deployment processes (CI/CD) across on-premise and cloud environments. The candidate must have development skills to write build and deployment scripts, conduct complex work independently, and mentor junior staff and IT personnel. Specific Qualifications:
Senior Deployment Engineer with 7+ years of experience in DevOps and Agile processes Extensive scripting experience with Linux shell, Python, and Groovy, especially automating deployment processes Experience with Docker/OpenShift, Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration Expertise in architecting and operationalizing CI/CD pipelines Experience integrating tools like Git/GitHub, AzureDevOps, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Nexus, JFrog, SonarQube, ServiceNow, CheckMarx, JUnit, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Selenium, Perfecto Ability to make technology decisions aligned with architectural requirements, including designing CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of best practices in zero-downtime environments Advanced Linux knowledge Interest in emerging technologies and industry trends Experience managing automated deployment processes for continuous deployment Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB Experience with PowerBI for DevOps metrics visualization Experience with Agile development and management methods Understanding of Quality Control and Test Automation Specific Duties:
Automate and enhance CI/CD deployment pipelines Improve internal infrastructure, delivery, and application monitoring for stability and scalability Maintain automation for setting up and provisioning new projects Ensure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met; conduct maintenance and testing of tools Administer DevOps tools, including configuration, change control, deployments, and access management Lead internal projects, guide team members, and collaborate on complex enterprise deployments Document deployment processes, standards, and procedures Conduct training and process reviews with users Provide second/third level on-call support for applications Support audits and address operational risks Maintain proficiency with the latest technology tools Serve as escalation point for deployment support and troubleshooting
