The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for architecture, design, implementation, and management of the infrastructure and DevOps environment for ACA Group (ACA)s cloud software hosted on AWS and provisioned using the CDK. This role requires understanding the IT vision and working towards realizing it. The candidate should be a self-starter, capable of applying new ideas, improving effectiveness, and collaborating with teams. Responsibilities include executing tasks on time and quality, resolving challenges independently, and suggesting broader improvements. Office Locations:
NYC (near Grand Central), Pittsburgh, Medford, Oregon, Chattanooga, Portland, Maine, Boston Must be able to work in-office 2 days/week (Hybrid). What youll do:
Design, implement, and maintain secure, fault-tolerant infrastructure and cloud environments using Well Architected Framework principles. Manage immutable infrastructure via CDK in TypeScript. Manage development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes. Oversee server, storage, database deployment, and disaster recovery planning. Create and communicate practical solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Participate in agile teams through analysis, design, development, testing, reviews, and deployment. Contribute to on-call rotations and make architectural decisions based on best practices. Design access controls using Principle of Least Privilege. Investigate outages and perform ad-hoc projects to support internal and client initiatives. Minimum qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field. Five years of experience managing AWS infrastructure with IaC tools like CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation. Required skills and attributes:
Proficiency in infrastructure as code, especially CDK with TypeScript. Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, TypeScript). Containerization experience with Docker, ECS, EKS, etc. Knowledge of Linux and Windows environments. Experience with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) and tools (GitHub, Jira, Confluence). Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively. Preferred qualifications:
AWS certifications are a plus. Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, big data platforms, or software development in C#, Python, Java, Ruby, or Golang is a plus. What ACA offers:
