$10,000.00**BENEFITS:** Benefit-eligible position, including:* Medical, dental, and vision insurance (Eligible on Start Date - No Waiting Period)* Paid time off (PTO)* Retirement plan (401k)* Holiday Pay**JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:**Under the direction of the Executive Director and Physicians, the Director of Clinical Operations assesses, triages, provides education, and support services for PCC patients, and supervises the clinical staff including nurses, medical assistants, lab, and pharmacy personnel. Works with the Operations Group managers to ensure smooth processes and procedures and develop strong team-oriented staff members.**QUALIFICATIONS:*** Graduation from accredited nursing program required.* California nursing or APP license required.* Minimum five years oncology nursing experience required* Computer and typing experience/skills.* Demonstrated excellent people skills, verbal skills, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.* OCN certification required**KNOWLEDGE OF:*** Oncology medical terminology* Medical office practices* Computer skills* Telephone skills* Customer service practices* Education theory and practices* Psychosocial support and symptom management* Excellent communication skills**KNOWLEDGE OF:**Triages phone calls according to acuity; gives or obtains sound nursing advice/medical response to patient inquiries same day as call (90% of the time) Notifies MD of urgent/critical findings for response within 30minutes. Identifies patients which need to be sent to the emergency room.Demonstrates an understanding of the most commonly used chemo/biotherapy agents and the potential side effects. Provides patient and family education regarding individual drugs, potential side effects/toxicities.Oversees RN’s and Charge Nurses and is responsible to ensure they are all administering chemo in accordance with PCC policy and NCCN guidelines.Ensures that RN’s check that patients have been given prescriptions for all the appropriate medications, based on the treatment they are receiving, to take at home including anti-emetics, antithrombotic, antibiotics, antivirals, etc... Provides patients with written instructions regarding administration and timing of medicines.Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate monitoring parameters for individual drugs and chemotherapy regiments. Trains RN’s to reviews all lab values and other pertinent tests, comparing to previous treatments as appropriate. Ensures accuracy of orders prior to submitting to pharmacy for reconstitution.Recognizes and manages oncologic emergencies in accordance with PCC policy and procedure. Deals with emergency situations in a calm manner.Provides staff education/in-services or schedules outside speakers. Orders professional education materials. Provides mentoring / second opinion to peers. Provides training for new employees.Works on quality control measures and other MIPS related clinical measures to ensure we are maximizing our points in all areas of quality control and quality-based initiatives. Participates in OO meetings for nursing and pharmacy.Demonstrates leadership, mentoring, accountability, decisive, decision making and handling/resolution of difficult patient and staff issues. Represents/assists nurses prn.Policies/Procedures: Revises / adds/ updates policies/procedures each year to be consistent with current oncology nursing practice.Demonstrates knowledge of Onco EMR with the ability to navigate the system to obtain pertinent information. Ability to correctly add tests, activities, and medications. Ability to correctly move orders when required. Responsible for review of and promotion to practice for all regimens in the system.Responsible for the efficiencies in all clinical areas, including staffing, scheduling, supplies, training, and policies and procedures.Works with OneOncology Pharmacy Services to ensure the regimens are updated and the IOD is operating at maximum efficiency.Ensures cross coverage/training for chemo scheduling, MA’s, and Lab.Continue to build policies and procedures manuals for Treatment Center, Lab, Pharmacy #J-18808-Ljbffr
