Responsibilities The Surgical Technologist II is responsible for the delivery of patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse. The Technologist works as a team member with the primary function as the “scrub person” in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. The Technologist provides specialized resources to the nursing department and Patient Care Services Division as a service lead—providing education, case consultation, or other program services on an ongoing basis. The technologist may be assigned other functions as permitted by the hospital policy.

Service Lead Responsibilities

Updated Preference Cards

Work as a liaison between the surgeon and the OR

Manage and maintain service specific supplies

Provide educational in services on new service supplies and equipment

Qualifications

Education:

High School Graduate. Graduate of Approved Surgical Technologist program required.

Licensure/Certification:

Current certification in basic CPR through American Heart Association.

Experience:

Minimum one-year acute care operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist required. Trauma II experience preferred.

Skills:

Must demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, safe use and care of surgical instruments and equipment, knowledge of various in-patient surgical procedures. Basic Windows computer skills required.

Interpersonal Skills:

Good communication skills; works as a team member. Demonstrates the True North values, which consist of Nurture/Care, Own It, Respect Relationships, Build Trust and Hardwire Excellence.

Compensation

Hourly Salary Range Min $47.35 - Max $57.58 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
