Unity Catalog & Opportunity Databricks Unity Catalog is the industry’s only unified and open governance solution for data and AI, built into the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. It provides organizations with a comprehensive view of their data, enabling seamless governance and discovery across any data format. The platform enhances productivity through intelligent search, discovery, and auto‑generated insights and documentation. We are seeking senior leaders to shape vision and define strategy for this space.
Impact You Will Have
Drive key feature areas for Unity Catalog, such as Lineage and Tagging, by planning and leading large‑scale technical projects.
Build architecture design, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility for new projects.
Lead systems debugging, performance measurement & optimization on large production clusters.
Introduce tools to allow greater automation and operability of services.
Use your deep experience to help prevent and investigate production issues.
Contribute as a Technical Lead by mentoring others, leading project planning, and delegating work to team members.
Qualifications
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience.
15+ years of experience building large‑scale distributed systems with high availability.
5+ years of technical leadership experience building complex production systems.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a demonstrable bias toward action.
Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
Comfortable working toward a multi‑year vision with incremental deliverables.
Pay Range Zone 1 Pay Range: $228,400—$303,550 USD. Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role represent the expected salary range for non‑commissionable roles or on‑target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including job‑related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications, training, and specific work location. The total compensation package may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
