Tax Advisor, Wealth Management Brown Brothers Harriman

Pay Range Base salary ranges from

$110,000 to $150,000

per year. Location‑specific ranges:

NYC: $110k – $150k

Boston/Charlotte: $100k – $150k

Chicago/Philadelphia: $100k – $140k

Total compensation includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit‑sharing. Your actual pay will be based on skill, experience, and qualifications. Location & Work Arrangement Position may be based in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, or Charlotte. Hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in office.

Responsibilities

Review tax returns and identify planning opportunities for individuals and entities.

Research and analyze tax questions, staying informed on new or proposed changes to tax laws and regulations.

Identify and implement proactive tax planning strategies to minimize tax exposure and optimize after‑tax results.

Advise Trust Officers, Relationship Managers, attorneys, and accountants on tax matters affecting account management.

Partner with CFOs and family office professionals to integrate tax considerations into broader financial and cash‑flow planning.

Develop and review tax plans to minimize overall estate and income taxes.

Analyze tax matters and provide recommendations that drive business decisions.

Review financial statements for individuals and entities (partnerships, corporations, private foundations) and provide feedback.

Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure consistency between advisory strategies and compliance filings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

6–8+ years of relevant work experience.

CPA, JD, or other advanced tax credential strongly preferred.

Trust taxation experience strongly preferred.

Effective communication skills and ability to meet with high‑net‑worth individuals to articulate complex tax provisions.

Strong technical tax knowledge and experience.

Proficiency in tax research software.

Ability to work in a team and manage multiple advisors.

Strong prioritization and coordination skills across multiple advisors.

Experience with Microsoft Office products.
