Description You will be the Mid‑Career Cybersecurity Engineer for the Cybersecurity team which is responsible for applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing As the Mid‑Career Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be responsible for developing System Cyber architecture to mitigate current and emerging threats and applying the Risk Management Framework within the engineering System Development Life Cycle. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing Cybersecurity designs in satellite systems

Developing space and ground cryptographic architectures

Performing Risk Management Framework activities, including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and analysis of mitigation solutions

Working with the software development team on the integration of secure coding practices to ensure the delivery of secure software solutions

Performing threat and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks and developing mitigation strategies to address them

Coordinating with Cyber and system architects and developers to provide oversight in the development of solutions

Conducting cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements

Who You Are The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in developing and implementing Cybersecurity solutions. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.

Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to start.

Basic Qualifications

Practical experience with Systems Engineering, Satellite Systems design, Systems Development Life Cycle, or similar experience

Practical experience in the application of the Risk Management Framework to aerospace systems

Practical experience with cybersecurity analysis, application, and implementation

Experience with supply chain risk management

Compliance with DoD Cybersecurity Workforce qualification and certification requirements

Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with an investigation within 5 years

Desired Skills

Experienced in the development of satellite systems and secure communications

Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle, Cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations applicable to space and ground systems

Motivated self‑starter with strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings

Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full‑time – The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position is $101,000 – $178,135 (varies by location). This information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills and market considerations when extending an offer.
