About the opportunity Perform general maintenance activities throughout all Vail Health’s facilities to aid in creating a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and staff. Responsible for all building service systems, including life safety systems and preventive maintenance.

What you will do

Perform corrective and preventative work on buildings and grounds.

Use a work order system to track and maintain building work requests.

Perform moderately complex plumbing, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and electrical tasks.

Assist with basic HVAC and building automation functions.

Move equipment, furniture, and facilities supplies between properties.

Maintain and operate the fire suppression and detection systems.

Assist with generator tests during off‑hours.

Perform life safety and environment of care rounds.

Ensure all safety protocols are followed in respective work areas.

Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need Experience:

Three years of previous maintenance experience is required, including reading blueprints and schematics, and using meters and test equipment. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

License(s):

Must have a valid State of Colorado Driver’s license and ability to pass VVMC’s Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.

Certification(s):

Computer / Typing:

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job‑specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

English Language:

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
