Live Infra Systems Engineer, Live Operations Infrastructure, Prime Video
Prime Video’s Live Infrastructure team is looking for a passionate, results‑oriented, hard‑working, operationally focused Systems Administrator Engineer to support the fast‑evolving and expanding video ecosystem, especially for live events and 24/7 linear channels.
You will have an enormous opportunity to work within multiple systems, analyzing and identifying common issues, and driving the teams toward resolution to have a positive impact on customer experience. This job requires learning quickly and working on disparate and overlapping tasks.

We build and maintain reliable, high‑performance live experiences, and we take ownership of the end‑to‑end live streaming experience—from the venue, through our encoding and delivery platform, out through PV’s client applications.

Key job responsibilities
Build and scale our current infrastructure as well as design and deliver new tools supporting our video business.
Engineer and administer day‑to‑day operations for large‑scale distributed systems.
Guide the organization and implement best practices to deliver operational improvements.
Design and architect solutions that scale.
Own a global hardware stack.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience
5+ years of Linux experience
5+ years of systems engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration
Experience working with Linux
Experience in systems engineering
Experience in any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS
Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
Experience working in 24/7 production environment
Experience with service‑oriented architecture and web services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
