Key Responsibilities
Lead design and development of next-generation security automation platforms
Collaborate with security operations teams to identify automation opportunities and technical requirements
Drive strategic technology integration initiatives to reduce manual operational overhead
Mentor multiple engineers simultaneously on security automation best practices and system design
Guide local and global engineering teams toward optimal technical solutions
Serve as force-multiplier for engineering excellence across the organization
Analyze systematic operational challenges and implement preventive solutions before they become critical
Work directly with experienced security responders to understand operational pain points
Design technical enrichment solutions that scale beyond individual contributions
Build and maintain security automation tools and platforms supporting 24/7 operations
Implement self-service capabilities to reduce direct engineering interaction requirements
Develop AI/LLM-powered automation solutions for ticket processing and response
Participate in on-call rotation supporting critical security infrastructure
Research and implement emerging technologies in security automation
Drive modernization of security tools and processes
Measure and optimize automation effectiveness and operational efficiency

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Compensation and Benefits The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
