About CAMBA CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We offer more than 180 integrated programs in education & youth development, family support, job training & employment services, health, housing, and legal services. We serve almost 80,000 individuals and families, including 13,000 youth. CAMBA reaches a diverse cross‑section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. Over 85% of our families live in poverty and nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers face similar challenges.
CAMBA operates six single‑adult shelters, six family shelters, and one drop‑in center. Each shelter provides a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug‑free facility. Homeless men and women with mental illness and substance‑abuse disorders receive comprehensive services to stabilize their condition and transition to permanent or supported housing.
CAMBA’s Magnolia House
is located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn and serves 200 single women at any given time. The majority of these clients are diagnosed with mental illness, some with dual diagnoses of chemical addictions.

Key Responsibilities
Understand all aspects of contract requirements and communicate this understanding to staff.
Collaborate with peers at other CAMBA shelters and external agencies on client progress and best practices.
Set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets with staff in line with contract requirements.
Observe direct‑reporting staff engaging with clients and provide supervisory oversight.
Conduct periodic internal file reviews and implement quality assurance measures to ensure quality service delivery, addressing client complaints as necessary.
Assist the Vice‑President in overseeing all program aspects in his/her absence.
Prepare reports and statistical information for CAMBA management and funders.
Analyze program and demographic data to make programmatic improvements.
Organize onsite and offsite training opportunities for staff professional development.
Collaborate with CAMBA management regarding programmatic and personnel issues.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (Dept. of Health, OTDA, DHS, Coalition for the Homeless) on standards for food, supplies, linens, personal belongings, client mail, laundry, personal care items, etc.
Plan and organize program activities to maximize contract goals and DHS Performance Incentive Plan targets.
Develop content addressing residents’ needs in ADL, time management, critical thinking, shelter rules and regulations.
Coordinate social/peer support and ADL events.
Troubleshoot client and staff program issues, making decisions per program policies and protocols.
Implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies to ensure a safe environment.
Assist and follow up on critical incidents involving clients.
Coordinate with food vendors and sub‑contractors for quality service delivery.
Engage community leaders and groups to build support and troubleshoot issues.
Ensure staff use electronic databases with data integrity oversight.
Conduct one‑on‑one supervision of direct‑reporting staff to assess performance and identify training needs.
Review and sign time sheets; prepare performance appraisals.
Represent staff in meetings with funders and outside agencies.
Report incidents and monitoring events to the Vice‑President in a timely manner.
Complete incident, weekly, and monthly reports.
Facilitate interdepartmental communication and conduct regular staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.).
Two years of applicable experience or equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Tuberculosis test required.
Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred).
Compensation $72,000–$75,000 annually. The salary range reflects the low and high end for the position and may vary based on experience, education, budget, and internal equity.
Employment Details Full‑time, 35 hours per week.
