Save Job

Sr. Technical Product Manager, Amazon Prime Air How do you get items to customers quickly, cost‑effectively, and—most importantly—safely in less than an hour, and how can you do it at scale? Our teams of scientists, engineers, aerospace professionals, and futurists are working hard to make that possible. If you want an iterative environment where you can drive innovation, apply state‑of‑the‑art technologies to solve real‑world delivery challenges, and provide benefits to customers, Prime Air is the place for you.

We’re hiring a Sr. Technical Product Manager to own the under‑the‑roof fulfillment flows and the supporting technical design for integration with new models/businesses that feed our Prime Air Drone Delivery Centers (PADDCs). You will define how an order is prepared, packaged, verified, and handed off to flight operations, turning ambiguous, real‑world constraints into crisp mechanisms. You’ll partner with software, hardware, and operations teams to reduce latency and defects while enabling replication across sites.

Key job responsibilities

Own the end‑to‑end under‑the‑roof workflow from order → pick/pack → packaging → scanning/labeling → staging → PADDC handoff; define detailed product requirements and success metrics.

Lead partner‑location integrations across other businesses: map current/future states, define SLAs and interfaces, and land mechanisms that work at scale.

Define and drive packaging approaches per model, balancing product protection, weight constraints, and drone compatibility; set guardrails that remove decision making.

Partner with operator tooling teams to translate operational needs into usable software flows (scanning, exceptions, queueing, etc).

Instrument the workflow with phase‑level telemetry; own targets for median and P90 by phase and overall Click‑to‑Delivery; run RCAs and deliver measurable variance reduction.

Write clear PRFAQs/BRDs and drive cross‑org alignment with engineering, operations, safety, and partner teams.

Support site launches and retrofits; validate mechanisms on the floor, close the loop with data, and iterate quickly.

About the team Prime Air’s PADDC team designs and scales the ground systems that turn a customer click into a drone takeoff. We design both mobile deployment infrastructure and multi‑pad permanent sites, plus the processes and software that connect PADDCs to Amazon networks and partner operations. Day to day, we turn ambiguous needs into buildable interfaces and site‑ready plans, and work with engineering and operations to prototype, pilot, and harden changes before scaling.
