We’re looking for an Underwriter to help build and manage IronGrid’s underwriting function as we launch our first program. You’ll bring a proven track record managing a book of business and apply portfolio-level underwriting judgment to a new class of manufacturing and automation risks.This role combines underwriting expertise with broker and distribution relationship management. You’ll help shape coverage, support key product decisions, and work closely with founders and external partners. It’s a strong fit for someone with deep distribution relationships and a desire to help build a modern MGA from the ground up. You Will

Underwrite and manage a portfolio of robotics & automation liability risks using IronGrid’s internal models and underwriting framework. Develop and maintain strong broker and distribution relationships. Support product development including coverage design, rating considerations, filings, and underwriting guidelines. Drive disciplined portfolio management: selection, pricing oversight, aggregation considerations, and pipeline forecasting. Represent IronGrid externally with brokers, carriers, and reinsurers. Collaborate closely with founders to refine underwriting strategy and improve tooling and workflows. Provide market feedback to inform distribution strategy, appetite revisions, and new product opportunities. Who We're Looking For

5+ years of commercial underwriting or portfolio management experience. Strong wholesale broker relationships and exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments. Full life-cycle experience across submission review, underwriting analysis, indications/quotes/binders, and marketing to brokers. Curious, pragmatic, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. Thrives in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where structure is still being built. Strong communicator with a partnership-oriented approach. Energized by the opportunity to modernize underwriting with better tools, data, and models. Our Values

Interview Process

Founder-led interview process over a two-week duration. Compensation

Base salary $115,000 – $185,000, plus equity and performance bonus potential.
