A reputable and growing Houston litigation firm is seeking an experienced
Insurance Defense Attorney
to join its team. This role is ideal for a motivated litigator who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage an active caseload independently, and enjoys working closely with insurance carriers and insured clients. For highly skilled candidates,
hybrid work flexibility is available based on experience and demonstrated autonomy.
Base pay range $110,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment, discovery motions, and procedural matters.
Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts.
Handle court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
Conduct thorough case evaluations, liability analysis, and exposure assessments for insurers.
Communicate clearly with adjusters, clients, and opposing counsel regarding case status and strategy.
Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediation, and trial.
Maintain accurate billing and meet performance expectations.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD)
from an accredited law school.
Active Texas Bar license
in good standing.
3–10+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience
preferred.
Strong understanding of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently, especially for hybrid-eligible candidates.
Confident oral advocacy skills; trial experience is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism when working with clients, adjusters, and colleagues.
