Team Description The Emerging Fraud team builds and improves machine‑learning models that detect transaction fraud in real time. This role is both a model developer and a product‑centric collaborator, playing a key part in the larger fraud‑engineering organization.
Role Description
Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver fraud‑detection products that customers love.
Leverage a broad stack—Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more—to uncover insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data.
Model development from design, training, evaluation, validation, to deployment.
Translate technical findings into tangible business goals and communicate results to stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate is
Innovative—researching and evaluating emerging technologies and methods.
Creative—defining and solving large, undefined problems, asking questions, and sharing new ideas.
Technical—comfortable with open‑source languages and passionate about developing data‑science solutions on cloud platforms.
Statistically‑mindful—experience with model validation, confusion matrix, ROC curves, clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
Data guru—skills to retrieve, combine, and analyze data from diverse sources and structures.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field) plus 2 years of experience performing data analytics.
Master’s degree or MBA with quantitative concentration.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in a STEM field.
Experience working with AWS.
At least 2 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R.
At least 2 years’ experience with machine learning.
At least 2 years’ experience with SQL.
