Position Summary Responsible for legal counsel to Xcel Energy and management of Xcel Energy legal services, including outside counsel.

Essential Responsibilities

Provides leadership and counsel to Xcel Energy management on legal, business, legislation, regulation and strategic matters.

Prepares contracts, agreements and other documents for business transactions.

Represents Xcel Energy in courts, regulatory agencies and other adjudicatory or adversarial proceedings.

Manages a team of attorneys within area of expertise. May act as a primary point of contact for business areas.

Minimum Requirements

J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school;

Licensed to practice, or able to be licensed to practice on reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe of accepting the position, in the state where the position is located.

10 or more years of practice in corporate law department, law firm, government practice or equivalent experience.

Leadership experience required.

Preferred Requirements Utility Experience or heavily regulated industry.

Salary and Benefits The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $219,000.00 to $245,000.00 per year.
