RESPONSIBILITIES
Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software.
Drive the design of highly performant and highly available data solutions.
Build solutions that operate on massive amounts of data in high-transaction-volume applications.
Tune database performance using tools like SQL Profiler and execution plans.
Create and maintain Power BI dashboards.
Maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and best practices.
Work with QA resources to ensure that the software delivered is of the highest quality.
Act as a key member of the product launch team and work closely with DevOps to resolve operational issues.
Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college.
4+ years of SQL database development experience.
Demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that leverage terabytes of data.
Database design, T-SQL programming, performance tuning, and index analysis.
Strong ability to analyze complex data sets and optimize queries.
Define database architecture and development best practices.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., TFS).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Experience in database performance testing and SQL code unit testing strategies and implementations.
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch).
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
Scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
Comfortable facilitating discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologies.
Strong communication skills with business and technical partners.
