Position Senior Electrical Engineer PE – Federal Facility Projects
Role Description Arcadis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in facility design for United States Government and federal agency projects. The role involves approximately 20% travel for project-related work, including site visits and client collaboration. As a Federal Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead electrical design efforts across multiple concurrent projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and federal clients.
Role Accountabilities
Lead electrical design teams and mentor junior staff to produce construction‑ready design packages that clearly reflect design documentation and scope compliance
Design a variety of facilities focused on the industrial, commercial, and/or institutional sectors that may also include work with the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)
Take a leadership role in the project lifecycle, including the development of project budgets, proposals, schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation
Engage in business development and client relationship building within federal, state, and local government sectors
Ensure compliance with federal and industry standards (UFC, UFGS, NFPA, NEC, NESC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UBC, IEC, CE, EN)
Undertake travel related to project work that may require overnight stays away from home (about 20%)
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship (required for federal project work)
Minimum 12 years of consulting engineering experience in facility design with extensive focus on federal government/agency projects
Proven experience delivering IFC design packages for federal facilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; active Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S. (multiple state licenses preferred)
Exceptional communication skills related to presentations, speaking, and written work
Compensation Salary range: $110,000 – $180,000. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, project and location.
