Job Duties / Responsibilities

Direct the development and implementation of the District’s information technology infrastructure strategies.

Identify new and emerging technology products and ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption.

Architect, implement, and manage the District’s technology infrastructure to support schools and offices.

Validate infrastructure requirements for software applications.

Establish network and data center technology policies and standards.

Direct technical reviews of IT projects.

Advise the Chief Information Officer on complex technology projects and initiatives.

Collaborate with executive leadership and the Project Management Office on standards, evaluations, and prioritization.

Develop technology contingency and disaster recovery plans.

Ensure high availability of infrastructure services through capacity planning.

Direct the development of the IT infrastructure roadmap and refresh strategy.

Education • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field. • Master’s degree in management information systems, computer science, business, or public administration is highly preferable.

Experience • Six years of executive or senior‑level experience managing IT infrastructure architecture for a large organization (≥10,000 employees). • Three years of experience in program/project management, network operations, and server/storage management. • Preferred: Executive or management‑level data center experience.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in California.

May be required to travel across the District.

Senior Management classification.

May be called at any hour.

May be subject to the District’s Conflict of Interest Code.

Desirable Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture, data center operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Expertise in enterprise architecture, telecommunications (VoIP, converged systems), and small‑medium enterprise solutions.

Proficiency with Active Directory, GPO, virtualization, BMC, MDM, MPLS, and related technologies.

Strategic forecasting and long‑term planning for technology infrastructure needs.

Executive-level project and portfolio management, risk management, and budgeting.

Strong personnel practices, training, and employee relations skills.
