What You’ll Do As an Associate Optometrist at Bidwell Optometry, you’ll provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages, performing routine vision exams, fitting contact lenses, and managing ocular surface diseases and dry eye utilizing advanced in‑office IPL therapy. You’ll use state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic technology, including digital retinal imaging, topography, inflammatory testing, and automated pre‑testing equipment, to ensure precise and personalized patient care. Your role will also include participating in myopia control services, co‑managing ocular disease and surgical cases as needed, and maintaining accurate electronic health records via our streamlined EHR and optical systems. Working closely with a team of experienced support staff, you’ll ensure efficient patient flow, consistent patient education, and uphold the highest standard of care in a positive, team‑oriented environment that balances professionalism with a friendly, enjoyable workplace culture.
This part‑time position offers 8 to 24 hours per week, caring for 12–14 patients each day.
Who You Are The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise in comprehensive eye care, paired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A heartfelt dedication to patient‑centered care is essential. While experience in dry eye management or contact lens fitting is helpful, it is not required. Candidates with a passion or background in dry eye therapy, aesthetic procedures, or myopia control, as well as those experienced with IPL treatments, advanced contact lens fittings, or ocular surface disease management, would be valuable additions to the team. The ideal optometrist is personable and confident, eager to help grow these specialties in a collaborative private practice and genuinely enjoys making patients feel comfortable and appreciated.
