Job Overview
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non‑profit healthcare networks, is seeking a board‑certified Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of Psychiatry at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ.
This full‑time position will oversee a 19‑bed adult inpatient unit that serves individuals 18 and older, including those with co‑occurring substance use disorders, special needs, and autism spectrum disorder. In addition to inpatient care, responsibilities include consult & liaison psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction psychiatry, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is highly preferred.
The Medical Director will provide leadership to advance CentraState’s mission and strategic priorities, including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives, as well as coordinating scheduling for behavioral health clinicians.
Freehold is a well‑established Monmouth County community with strong schools, diverse amenities, and easy access to the Jersey Shore, New York City, and Philadelphia.
Salary & Benefits Salary Range:
$325,000 – $375,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives.

Responsibilities
Oversee a 19‑bed adult inpatient unit (voluntary and involuntary patients).
Provide consult & liaison psychiatry services.
Deliver crisis intervention and addiction psychiatry services.
Participate in and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinate scheduling for behavioral health clinicians.
Possibly administer electroconvulsive therapy (preferred).
Qualifications
Board‑Certified in Psychiatry.
3–5 years of experience (preferred). 2–3 years of proven leadership experience (required).
Experience with ECT (preferred).
