Product Owner for Business Intelligence

Enterprise Data Services (EDS)
team is seeking a
Product Owner for Business Intelligence
who will own and evolve our BI platform strategy—with an initial focus
onMicrosoft Power BI —and be prepared to transition into a broader
Data Product Owner
role within six months.
As part of this evolution, the role will take on
Microsoft Fabric
engineering and product integration responsibilities , ensuring the delivery of unified, enterprise‑scale analytics solutions spanning data ingestion, transformation, governance, and visualization. This includes leveraging Microsoft Fabric’s capabilities (Data Factory, Synapse, Real‑Time Analytics, Power BI, Data Science) to enable high‑performance, secure, and scalable data products.

hort-Term (First 6 Months) – Business Intelligence & Microsoft Fabric Platform Ownership:
Own the full lifecycle of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, from onboarding and security to deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
Represent business needs and drive platform enhancements that deliver value.
Design scalable, secure Fabric data architectures with Cloud and Architecture teams.
Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance.
Partner with Change Management and Learning & Development teams to deliver effective roll‑out, enablement, and training programs.
Manage vendors and ensure platform stability and security.
Lead BI engineering team.
Provide Power BI architectural guidance to analytics and data teams.
Translate business needs into analytics and reporting requirements.
Mid-Term (6+ Months) – Transition to Data Product Owner Role:
Own one or more enterprise data products (e.g., Customer, Sales, Supply Chain) beyond BI platforms.
Define and communicate the data product vision and roadmap aligned to enterprise strategy and Fabric capabilities.
Prioritize and manage the data product backlog based on value, risk, and feasibility.
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance in partnership with engineering, stewardship, and governance.
Drive cross‑domain interoperability and reusable data assets within Fabric.
Track key KPIs such as adoption, quality, and time‑to‑value.
Promote data literacy and enable stakeholders to use trusted data for analytics, AI, and decisions.
Qualifications: Required:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience with BI platforms ( Power BI
strongly preferred).
3+ years of experience with
cloud analytics platforms
(Azure, GCP) and
data engineering tools .
Hands‑on experience with
Microsoft Fabric
components including Power BI and governance features. Data Factory and Synapse experience preferred.
Strong proficiency in
SQL, Python , and data modeling principles.
Strong experience in customer‑ and user‑facing roles including facilitation, presentation, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and actionable deliverables.
Demonstrated
customer‑centric mindset
and ability to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Preferred:
Experience designing and optimizing
ETL/ELT pipelines
in a cloud environment.
Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or equivalent Azure certifications.
Background in CPG, manufacturing, or related industries.
Experience with
real‑time data streaming
and IoT integrations.
Experience with
data governance, data modeling, and data quality management .
Familiarity with
Data Mesh concepts
or domain‑oriented data ownership.
Product Owner certification (CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent).
