The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC), AWS for Government, Storage Services team is hiring a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems.
In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, and Amazon S3 on Outposts. These services host some of our customers’ most sensitive data, offering an opportunity to have direct impact on some of the largest‑scaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry.
A successful Systems Development Engineer should be focused on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just at a server level but enterprise wide. You will develop and build new features for these services, enabling our customers’ missions. You should have a solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services. You will work with Amazon’s largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services, deep‑dive into technical issues, and improve the customer experience.
This position requires the candidate to currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance. After start, the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Associate’s degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials). Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby. Experience with automation tools (building, testing, releasing, or monitoring). Proficiency in Python scripting. Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph. Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Python scripting. Experience with highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems.
