The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS) organization drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The mandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinate the execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainable business model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This department informs and helps shape upstream decisions around future investments and assets, serving as insiders of the US market. The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in hemophilia and growth disorders, new pipeline products, and products acquired through business development. The STARS team collaborates with groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development, global innovation hubs, and other affiliates. The Associate Director, HCP Experience, has strategic, operational, and tactical responsibility for all efforts targeting Health Care Providers within the Hemophilia Therapy Area and for relevant in-line and new product commercialization assets (3 years prior to launch). Responsibilities include developing and implementing brand plans, enhancing capabilities to strengthen market approach, and leading cross-functional initiatives that drive success. They will make strategic decisions, develop and roll out tactics aligned with strategy, and ensure successful business performance. They will leverage insights to create a differentiated customer experience, develop all HCP marketing activities, and provide brand leadership across functions. They will oversee field team execution to ensure effective HCP engagement and are accountable for pre-launch readiness and in-line brand financial objectives. Relationships

Reports to the Hemophilia Therapy Area Lead. Collaborates with Associate Directors, Sr Brand Managers, and other roles within the Rare Bleeding TA, as well as external partners including HCPs, key opinion leaders, and professional societies. Coordinates extensively with Field Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Global Marketing, and other departments, as well as external vendors. Essential Functions

Develop and execute HCP-centric strategies and tactics based on deep understanding of disease state, market dynamics, customer insights, and competition. Create innovative brand plans that differentiate and improve performance, aligned with cross-functional stakeholders. Drive targeted initiatives to maximize HCP reach and engagement across channels. Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across all HCP interactions. Identify insights and threats to inform marketing programs, minimizing risks and exploiting opportunities. Coordinate across functions to deliver seamless customer experiences. Build and maintain collaborative relationships inside and outside the organization. Lead strategic initiatives, including launch activity plans involving multiple teams. Partner with Field Sales and Strategic Partnerships to inform marketing strategies. Provide analysis and recommendations for executive inquiries and initiatives. Global Partnership

Collaborate with global teams to align US initiatives, support BLA submissions, and manage launch activities and project coordination. Content Management

Lead development of promotional and engagement content, ensure compliance, and oversee external agencies and review processes. Monitoring and Improvement

Assess brand performance, establish metrics, analyze feedback, and optimize HCP touchpoints. Develop KPIs for pipeline assets and monitor performance, implementing corrective actions as needed. Budget Management

Manage brand and TA budgets, maximize revenue and ROI, and oversee marketing spend efficiency. Physical Requirements

20-30% overnight travel required. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. At least 8 years in marketing, brand management, sales, or related pharma experience. Rare Disease experience required, with preference for Rare Bleeding Disorders. Proven leadership in cross-functional teams, strategic planning, and delivering results. Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare ecosystem, and compliance. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
