NGS Laboratory
Technician/Scientist/Manager G2024-03003 About the job
Psomagen Inc. is a leading multi-omics service provider specializing in NGS, Sanger, and single-cell sequencing services to support life science research and industry in North America. The NGS clinical laboratory technologist will perform daily NGS experiments, including sample preparation, library preparation, QC procedures, and operation of various NGS instruments. This position is based in the Psomagen office in Rockville, Maryland (on-site). Responsibilities
Operate computer-based laboratory systems, record data, and perform laboratory tests. Perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, quantification, NGS library construction, qPCR, sequencing, micro pipetting, and precise measurements. Prepare solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory protocols. Oversee equipment performance and maintenance schedules. Perform routine repairs or replacements of standard parts as needed. Monitor inventory levels, order materials, and supplies according to policies and procedures. Troubleshoot problematic samples and results. Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to improve processes. Adapt to new services and technologies to enhance sales. Train and guide new team members and subordinates. Write and update protocols to meet CLIA, CAP, and ISO standards. Qualifications & Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in biology or relevant field is required. Minimum of 1 year laboratory work experience. Experience in molecular biology and genomics, including DNA/RNA isolation, NGS library prep, QC, and sequencing. Organized with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Bilingual in English/Korean is a plus. Benefits
