This position supports the Electric Power Systems Business Unit in Rockford, IL. The engineer will manage day‑to‑day Quality Assurance (QA) activities that enable safe, compliant, and efficient production operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance, process capability, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

Lead the identification of root cause and corrective action for internal escapes or turn‑backs that affect production flow, supporting the Program Quality team and customer escape resolution.

Utilize problem‑solving skills to drive continuous improvement throughout the assembly environment.

Create and manage control plans to ensure proper identification of KPIs and control of the assembly process.

Partner with internal producer sites to implement and monitor proactive quality initiatives such as Zero Defect Plan (ZDP).

Use corporate data streams to identify and report trends and improvement progress to the management team.

Engage in a multifunctional value stream, collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to align and execute quality objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typical degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

Prior quality experience in aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing industry.

Experience supporting both development and production programs.

Proficiency with quality and problem‑solving tools.

Experience creating and maintaining quality documents.

Experience in customer‑facing quality initiatives.

Familiarity with RCCA and/or other lean manufacturing principles.

Salary Range USD 66,000 – 130,000
