Overview of Position Responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.

Essential Job Functions

Develop and write CNC programs using Mastercam for various machining operations (milling, turning, etc.) on multi‑axis CNC machines.

Interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to determine machining requirements and optimal tool paths.

Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for different materials and geometries.

Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential errors, collisions, or inefficiencies before actual machining.

Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and production staff to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve part quality and production efficiency.

Perform basic machine setup and operation for program testing and validation.

Document program changes, setup sheets, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Certificate in Mastercam required.

Strong understanding of G‑code and M‑code programming.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings featuring GD&T.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30–50 pounds.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
