Willow Wealth is looking for an
Associate/Senior Associate
to join our Portfolio Management team full‑time. You will be working with and reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management.
The Portfolio Management team at Willow Wealth is responsible for several functions related to the alternative investment portfolio. The team assists in portfolio management duties across real estate, private credit, private equity, and other alternative asset classes, which include quarterly investment reviews, valuation, investment process management, analytics, database management, investor reporting, and investment risk assessments. The team collaborates across various other functions at Willow Wealth including the Underwriting team, Product, Marketing, Finance, Treasury, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the building and maintaining of complex financial models to support valuation methodologies (DCF, market comparables, precedent transactions) - prior illiquid investment valuation experience at an asset management firm or 3rd party consulting/advisory firm required
Prepare detailed valuation and asset review memos and presentations for internal (Valuation Committee, Investment Committee) and external stakeholders
Collaborate with investment teams to gather relevant financial, operational, and performance data to inform valuations and ongoing asset reviews
Assist in responding to all audit and regulatory inquiries related to valuations
Review and enhance deal and portfolio level key performance metrics to monitor deviations from original investment theses across a diverse set of investment strategies
Monitor, evaluate, and develop portfolio level and investment level reporting to highlight risk factors and value drivers
Contribute to the development of risk analytics, valuation policies, and continued development of investment management frameworks
Collaborate across functions to achieve firm‑wide objectives including underwriting, structuring, operations, risk management, technology, and marketing
Assist in the day‑to‑day management of the Willow Wealth portfolio including workout/restructuring in combination with numerous external advisors
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - CFA, CAIA, or CPA is a plus
At least 4 years of finance experience, with at least 2 years of direct experience in valuation, transaction advisory, private equity, investment banking, or a credit/debt investment focused role
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in financial valuation; must have a solid understanding of valuation methodologies and financial statement analysis
Familiarity with valuation standards (e.g., ASC 820 / IFRS 13) is highly preferred
Ability to articulate complex financial concepts and information in both verbal and written forms
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Deal execution oriented with a readiness to roll up your sleeves and manage a process end to end
Ability to work seamlessly in a cross‑functional team environment
Excellent prioritization skills to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines
Passion for innovation, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides - experience with asset management databases, SQL, Salesforce, and Python a plus
What’s In It For You Competitive compensation packages, including equity. This is a New York‑based role. The base salary range for this position is USD 110,000 to 150,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity compensation as part of the total compensation package.
