About The Role Are you passionate about building scalable digital products, solving complex technical challenges, and creating tools that drive real business impact? Join AMG as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, where you’ll design and develop applications used by some of the most iconic CPG brands in the U.S. From high-visibility consumer experiences to internal platforms that power our operations, you’ll be hands‑on in shaping the technology behind our product ecosystem - including ORA, Shop. Snap. Earn.℠, Utopia+, Performance & Insights, sweepstakes engines, loyalty platforms, and key corporate sites.
What You’ll Do Build & Maintain Core Product Platforms
Develop high-quality backend services and APIs supporting ORA, Shop. Snap. Earn.℠, Utopia+, and other AMG digital platforms.
Implement scalable, maintainable Python code using frameworks like FastAPI or similar.
Build modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular, React or similar frameworks.
Integrate with databases, cloud services, third‑party APIs, and internal systems to deliver complete end‑to‑end functionality.
Drive Technical Execution
Translate product requirements into well‑architected solutions across the stack.
Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and agile ceremonies.
Both directly and with the assistance of AI agents, write clean, testable, well‑documented code while upholding engineering best practices.
Participate in code reviews, identify improvements, and help evolve platform architecture.
Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and analytics to deliver on time and with impact.
Problem Solving & Innovation
Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and enhance reliability across products.
Contribute to the evolution of AMG’s technical infrastructure, while advocating for tools, frameworks, and cloud capabilities that elevate our products.
Develop prototypes to validate new ideas, features, or internal optimizations.
Technical Partnership & Collaboration
Partner with product managers and account teams to align engineering decisions with client goals and user needs.
Work cross‑functionally to support internal data tools, dashboards, and performance reporting (Power BI experience is a plus).
Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Stay Ahead of the Curve
Monitor industry trends, engineering practices, and emerging technologies.
Bring forward recommendations that strengthen AMG’s product ecosystem and technical foundation.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in software development using Python.
Proficiency with modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript with experience using at least one major front‑end framework (Angular preferred).
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and backend services.
Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and ORMs.
Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with Git‑based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Solid communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Bonus: PowerBI or other experience with other BI tools.
This position is located in Rocky Hill, CT. We are only accepting applicants that live in CT or are willing to relocate.
Working at AMG
We operate in a hybrid model, combining the power of in‑person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. Most team members work from home 1–2 days per week. We believe great products are built through strong relationships, trust, and a little bit of fun.
