Amazon Web Services (AWS) invites applications for the Ontologist, Learning Taxonomy position within the Training & Certification (T&C) Products and Services team.
Job Description Our T&C team seeks an enthusiastic and creative thought leader with a strong background in product innovation to lead efforts to scale training content creation for technical learning solutions. You will own the definition and governance of the T&C learning content model and taxonomy, and help the team build mechanisms, tools, and automation to dramatically increase (5×) the amount of content we can create and deliver faster.

Key Responsibilities
Support business strategy to identify requirements and resources for complex AWS training initiatives.
Serve as the single‑threaded owner for the T&C learning content model and taxonomy standards; innovate tools and governance for adoption across curriculum development and publishing workflows.
Drive scaling mechanisms—processes, tools, and automation—for content creation via crowdsourcing and AI content generation.
Identify existing AWS content sources and define scalable curated learning products.
Innovate new self‑paced digital learning offerings based on learner needs.
Manage a product roadmap and lifecycle of initiatives enhancing the T&C learning experience.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand use cases and learning challenges.
Perform market analyses, usability studies, and research to uncover new opportunities for innovation.
Establish goals, review metrics, and identify opportunities to deliver success.
Work with development teams to deliver customer experiences.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of customer‑facing product development and product management, including definition, launch, and optimization of products and services.
5+ years of experience building learning products, software, or services.
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline (information science, computer science, engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience with engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of UX and/or CX design and usability.
Experience in problem‑solving, disruptive innovation, and developing technology programs across customer organizations.
Experience owning program strategy, end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Experience in Learning & Development, course facilitation, or a comparable training role.
Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop processes and tools.

Compensation for this position ranges from $92,400 per year in the lowest geographic market to $206,700 per year in the highest, with additional equity, sign‑on payments, and benefits as part of the total compensation package.
