Evercore seeks to hire an
Experienced Data Solution Architect
to join its Data Architecture & Modeling team in New York, NY.
This role is critical to building the firm's enterprise data model and delivering business-ready data to bankers and senior stakeholders. The Data Solution Architect will engage directly with business teams to capture workflows, define data domains, and translate requirements into logical models. Working closely with data engineers and business analysts, the DSA will ensure data is mastered, trusted, and consumable in downstream systems including Databricks, Salesforce, and DealCloud.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on role ideal for individuals who combine strong business engagement skills with technical fluency in data modeling, SQL, Python, and modern analytics platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
Partner with bankers, operational leaders, and senior stakeholders to capture workflows, entities, and data requirements.
Design and maintain logical and semantic data models aligned to the firm's enterprise architecture.
Define attributes, hierarchies, and business rules for core domains (e.g., funds, sponsors, deals, coverage).
Explore and validate datasets in SQL, Python, and Databricks, shaping raw data into business-ready domain tables.
Collaborate with data engineers on ingestion, transformations, and enrichment of data for business consumption.
Prototype transformations and pipelines in Python/Databricks, then hand off to engineers for production implementation.
Present domain models and outputs to stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate to ensure alignment.
Serve as a trusted bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that models are both accurate and usable.
Specific Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in data architecture, solution design, or hybrid business/data roles within financial services or consulting.
Strong proficiency in:
SQL (querying, joining, validating relational datasets).
Python (data wrangling, prototyping, APIs, Pyspark).
Databricks or equivalent data platforms.
Deep understanding of data modeling, semantics, ontologies, and master data management (MDM).
Familiarity with data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, APIs, third-party data sources).
Strong communication skills, with proven ability to translate complex data concepts for business and technical audiences.
Highly organized, proactive, and able to balance big-picture design with hands-on prototyping.
