Job Description
Job Summary
The CMDB Specialist - Sustainability will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with a specific focus on capturing, tracking, and analyzing data related to the organization's environmental impact (e.g., energy consumption, IT asset lifecycle, waste generation). This individual will ensure accurate data is available for sustainability reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain CMDB structures, CI classes, relationship definitions, and lifecycle rules. Define processes to execute ongoing data quality monitoring, audits, and remediation cycles. Configure and maintain Identification & Reconciliation rules. Support Discovery, ingestion patterns, and integrations as needed. Enforce relationship integrity across Application Services, Service Offerings, and technical CIs. Collaborate with CSDM Architects on CMDB changes that support the data model. Document CMDB / CMDB revised processes and assist with operational playbooks. Support updates to the CI records to address legacy process remediation.
Required Experience
5+ years administrating CMDB structures and lifecycle processes. Hands-on experience configuring CI classes, attributes, and relationships. Strong knowledge of Identification & Reconciliation (I/R) rules and reconciling multiple data sources. Familiarity with Discovery, Service Mapping, maintain patterns / probes and CI ingestion sources. Experience resolving CI data defects and supporting audit remediation. Ability to interpret architectural requirements and apply them to the CMDB. Experience producing dashboards or reports for CI data quality.
