My client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to become a valued member of their supportive and thoughtful team. Team & Facilities You will be part of a friendly and bubbly team that values camaraderie and mutual support. With a practice that has been serving the community for over 8 years, you will have access to state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including an ultrasound, in‑house lab, and x‑ray. The practice even converts the x‑ray room into a more comfortable space for euthanasia, ensuring a compassionate environment during difficult times.
The team consists of 2 full‑time vets, 5 qualified nurses, 1 VCA, and 4 receptionists, all dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care. The practice is a proud member of the practice standards scheme and has received commendations for exceptional client service. Known for its welcoming and friendly atmosphere, this is a place where both clients and staff feel at home.
Responsibilities & Expectations Responsibilities include performing general small animal surgical and medical procedures, working 40 hours a week (including 1 in 3 weekends), and maintaining a supportive, compassionate environment. The role does not involve out‑of‑hours work. Flexible arrangements, including school‑hour schedules, are available.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, be confident, friendly, and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills, possess strong general small animal surgical and medical abilities, have a genuine desire to learn and improve, and be flexible and able to work well under pressure. A shared commitment to animal welfare is essential. Please note you must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in the UK and register with the RCVS.
