Responsibilities include the design and hands-on execution of synthesis, purification, and formulation of radiotracers for use in in vivo imaging, biodistribution, and efficacy studies. The scientist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and manage multiple studies simultaneously to support preclinical nuclear medicine programs.
Key responsibilities include working safely and compliantly with radioactive materials and operating essential lab equipment such as HPLC and Radio-TLC.**Key Responsibilities:*** Execute and manage the production of radiotracers used in PET/SPECT imaging and therapeutic research studies.* Develop and validate:
+ Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of radio labeled compounds targeting complex biological markers for application in PET/SPECT imaging and therapeutic studies.
+ Synthesis of novel PET/SPECT and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals
+ Purification methods for small and large molecules
+ Analytical methods for HPLC and TLC
+ Release criteria for imaging studies
+ Dose formulation processes* Operate and maintain analytical and automated radiochemistry synthesis units.* Stay current on advancements in radiochemistry and imaging through literature review and attendance at scientific conferences.* Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records.* Analyze data, recognize aberrant results, and propose corrective actions or next steps* Summarize data for reports, papers, and presentations.* Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively* Mentor and guide junior team members.* Provide scientific expertise and troubleshooting internally and in communication with Sponsors related to radiochemistry.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)*** Experience with small and large molecule radiochemistry labeling, purification, and formulation* Working knowledge and experience with HPLC and TLC techniques in radiochemistry* Experience in conjugation with chelators and labeling with radiometals is preferred.* Prior experience with F-18 radiochemistry and radioiodination methods is considered advantageous.* An effective team player with the ability to collaborate across various departments* Ability to multi-task different projects and manage time effectively* Strong written and verbal communication skills that can reach an audience of varying levels of expertise**Experience, Education, and Certifications*** Ph.D. in Chemistry or relevant field with 3+ years or M.S. with 5+ years of experience in an academic or pharmaceutical lab* Experience working with radioactive materials in a safe and compliant manner* Ability to lift more than 40 pounds* Proficient with Microsoft office* English: Fluent This role is based in the Perceptive office/lab located in Needham, MA.
The annual base salary range for this role is $63,588-$118,093.
This range represents the anticipated initial annual salary and may vary depending on several factors including the candidate’s experience and skills and may be subject to market rate adjustment.locations:
