Role Overview We are seeking a talented
Android Engineering Manager
to lead our Android development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical direction, team leadership, and delivery of our Android apps. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our mobile products are innovative, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Android engineers across multiple projects Own the architecture, performance, and technical direction of Android applications Drive the execution of product features from planning through delivery Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and iOS teams to define and deliver high-quality user experiences Champion engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and documentation Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and accountability Stay current with mobile trends and advocate for new tools, technologies, and processes Hire and onboard new team members as needed
Requirements
8+ years of Android development experience; 2+ years in a leadership role Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.), Jetpack libraries, and mobile performance optimization Experience shipping complex consumer-facing apps in production Familiarity with tools like Jetpack Compose, Dagger/Hilt, Retrofit, and Coroutines Excellent communication and people management skills Comfortable working in Agile or Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multi-module architecture and scalable codebases Prior experience managing remote or distributed teams Contribution to open-source projects or personal Android apps Familiarity with cross-platform solutions (e.g., Flutter, React Native) is a plus
