Base pay range $32.50/hr - $40.50/hr Direct message the job poster from Motive Workforce Are you a hands-on technician who thrives in dynamic environments? Our client is looking for a skilled and self-motivated UPS Technician to join their growing Service team. This is a key role supporting critical backup power infrastructure for industries including telecom, data centers, utilities, and more. You’ll perform system maintenance and repairs, assist with installations and commissioning, and respond to emergency service calls, keeping essential systems running smoothly when they matter most. What You’ll Do: Perform preventive maintenance on UPS systems: battery testing, load bank testing, and inspections Diagnose and repair issues in power modules, batteries, capacitors, etc. Assist with installations, start-ups, and technical support Work with DC power systems, including rectifier plants, inverters, and battery strings Coordinate with project teams and support customers on-site and remotely Maintain detailed service records and reports Stay current on industry best practices and manufacturer certifications What You Bring: 3+ years of experience as a UPS Technician or similar role Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical/electronic systems Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA codes and safety protocols Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with clients Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays Comfortable working in IT rooms, mechanical spaces, and on ladders Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs Able to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical/blood draw Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Production Industries Telecommunications Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Motive Workforce by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Telecommunications Technician” roles.
